Engineered Floor Repair Kit Installation Instructions
PROBLEMS OCCUR ON JOBS WHERE:
• The flooring adhesive fails to have full contact with the flooring, which results in gaps between the flooring and the subfloor.
• Subfloors are not leveled properly before installation.
• Old adhesives crystallize and release from subfloor due to natural wood movement.
• Wrong spread rate of adhesive, resulting in release of wood from subfloor.
• Warping of wood flooring due to water damage or (out of box) warped product.
BENEFITS OF DRITAC PROFESSIONAL WOOD FLOOR REPAIR SYSTEM
• Functional and easy to use for both the professional flooring installer and the “do it yourselfer”.
• Hollow spot or void beneath the flooring is completely filled with the repair adhesive, truly repairing the problem! (Epoxy repair kits only tack down a small section of the problem area.)
• Drill bit and applicator tips are much smaller in diameter than conventional repair kits, creating a smaller hole which is easily hidden with wood putty.
• No need to weigh down the repaired area.
• Cost per repair is a fraction of the cost of epoxy.
• Floor can be walked on immediately after the repair. No set up time is required!
Instructions
• Locate loose area(s) or hollow spot(s) in the wood and outline with blue releasable tape.
• Prepare all hollow areas at the same time. Doing all repairs in a short time period will prevent the syringe from clogging.
• Stir adhesive before using.
• Loading the Syringe: (two options)
1. Pour directly from bottle into syringe.
or
2. Pour DriTac Repair Adhesive into an open container. Place the applicator tip of syringe into an open container and draw the adhesive up into syringe.
NOTE: Adhesive is thin - It will drip without pressure being applied to the syringe.
• Drill hole(s) with a 3/32” drill bit, (provided in this system), in the area outlined by the blue tape. There may be a need for more than one hole per loose area depending upon size. For larger areas, at least two holes are recommended. Drill one hole at one side of the hollow area and a second hole at the other side.
• Place the applicator tip into the hole and inject adhesive until you feel back pressure. If two holes were drilled, inject adhesive until it comes out the other hole. There may be a need to inject adhesive into the second hole to spread the repair adhesive to the entire area.
• The hollow spot should now be filled in completely. Do not weigh down the repaired area, this allows the adhesive to seek its level.
• Once the void is completely filled use the dowels provided as a plug for the hole(s) drilled. This will keep the adhesive securely under the floor. The dowels are slightly oversized and need to be tapered with a knife or sandpaper to properly fill the hole. Tap the dowel into the hole and cut it off even with the floor. Use the dowel punch provided in this system to lower the dowel below the surface of the flooring.
• Putty the hole with wood filler that blends with the floor color.
• Clean up any adhesive residue with a damp cloth. Dry adhesive can be removed with mineral spirits or safety solvent. Clean out syringe and applicator tip so that it can be reused.
Do not use DriTac Wood Floor Repair System to repair solid wood flooring.
NOTE: DriTac Wood Floor Repair Kit can be used with most glue down engineered wood floors, as long as the adhesive is completely cured. If the original adhesive used for installation was not DriTac 6200, test a sample area for compatibility. Do not use DriTac Wood Floor Repair System to repair solid wood flooring.
CAUTION: If there is a large amount of repair adhesive used to fill a hollow spot, some cupping of the flooring may occur. This cupping will dissipate within several days.
KEEP ADHESIVE FROM FREEZING

DriTac Adhesive Group manufactures premium wood and cork flooring adhesives and flooring-related products for installers, contractors and architects. DriTac 6200 is the nation's leading waterbased wood flooring adhesive with over 1½ million square feet of flooring installed monthly. DriTac 7500 Urethane is a low odor, solvent-free urethane adhesive that is highly moisture resistant and suitable for solid wood flooring.
DriTac Adhesive Group has expanded its product line through the years with a number of new and innovative products. These include DriTac Professional Wood Floor Repair Kit, the quick and easy way to repair hollow spots and loose areas in wood floors; DriTac Urethane Adhesive Remover, which removes wet or uncured urethane adhesive from wood flooring surfaces; and its latest product, DriTac Concrete Moisture Emission Sealer, which prevents moisture in concrete subfloors from affecting wood flooring and wood flooring adhesives.
A division of Basic Adhesives, Inc. since 1986, DriTac Flooring Adhesives was originally established in 1956 in New York City. Over the years, DriTac has steadily increased its market presence as more and more flooring professionals recommend or specify DriTac products for their requirements.
At the time of DriTac's inception, the company's signature product was DriTac 6200, a special waterbased wood flooring adhesive. In the early years, DriTac's reputation grew in the New York area by word of mouth; it remained virtually unknown elsewhere. Back in those days, most of the country was using solvent-based adhesives to install wood flooring. DriTac 6200 was unique in that it achieved a superior ultimate bond strength with a non-toxic, waterbased formula. When the Clean Air Act of 1990 was enacted, adhesive manufacturers were required to eliminate chlorinated solvents from their products. DriTac 6200 was recognized as the adhesive of choice, as it had always been V.O.C. compliant from the beginning. DriTac was the right product at the right time!
DriTac continually endeavors to supply the flooring industry with the highest quality products. DriTac products are sold through a network of authorized flooring distributors across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
