I started installing the boards in January during an exceptional warm spell. I got about 45-50 boards down before the weather turned cold. About two weeks ago I started back in on the deck. I could not believe how much the boards from January had faded especially considering they were down during the time of year when the sun is not particulary strong! Second, I have never seen a procuct as dimensionally unstable as this. The amount and speed at which the boards expand/contract is unlike anything I have ever seen. You can almost watch them expand/contract! If a cloud comes over my deck for a few minutes you can see the joints start to open up. This makes it very difficult to figure out how much gap to leave as well as the fact that it just looks like hell! Also, I was somewhat unhappy with the amount of junk within the boards. Apparently alot of misc. materials are recycled in the making of this product. I have found alot of spots with different colored pieces of rubber sticking up. Also many spots that have been touched up with some kind of fill material.

The Heavy fire treated ridge caps are very dark.
