It could be better return time on responses is slow sometimes takes 2 days for a response sometimes it is immediate. i suppose it averages out. I would have to say the product is fair to poor. The material is a nice quality, but the ratio of short & medium short boards is HIGH compared to long boards. I was VERY disappointed with the quantity of small boards in relation to the longer boards.

I didn't have any issues that required customer service. I was very happy with the quality. Out of 700sf of flooring in 1 room, I bet we only had 5 or 6 planks that were either warped/damaged before install. And only 2 or 3 planks splintered during install. Probably only 1.5% waste was due to bad material. That's a pretty good ratio when dealing with that much flooring. I thought shipping was a little expensive, but it had to ship from California to PA. We bought ~850 sf of the Acacia Smooth at random lengths on Clearance. They were definitely random, but I'll say there was a pretty proportionate mixture of 1', 2', 3', and 4' pieces (those lengths being approximate of course). Our floors look absolutely terrific. I was extremely pleased with the ease of shopping on BuildDirect's website. More so than other popular websites and even stores. It was easy to filter, sort, and order samples based on price and material characteristics. I would say that the ordering & deliver process was pretty much flawless. I will definitely use BuildDirect again in the future.

I have 5 boards that were cut crooked on the ends- which I will have to try and use as shorter termination pieces. I hope. Customer Service is very responsive, knowledgable, fast to fill order. I would recommend Build direct to anyone.

We had some trouble with our order, but it was fixed quickly and courteously. The trucking company shipped the first shipment on one large busted pallet. We had to unload by hand because wouldnt fit on the liftgate. my rep was very helpful.

our rep did a good job helping me. The mandarin went down easily, and it seems to be a good quality flooring however the 2 things I have an issue with is 1 its NOT oak consumers its asian mahagany. When delivered the boxes even said asian mahagany the sample sent to me only had the stain color written on it and since the floor is made in china they do not have the oak we westerners are accustomed to seeing, though it does have the similar grain pattern as oak but its not as hard as oak. I do feel this is misleading on builddirects part, being in the woodworking buisness for 25 years I was suspicious at the name mandarin oak but I still liked it. The second issue with the flooring I purchased which was only in about 3% of the planks were time saver marks these are made in the factory when the pieces are fed through a large sanding machine they will occasionally get stuck between the sanding belt and the conveyor which causes sand burn on the face. With the light colored sample I was hoping for more of the true wood to have light and dark planks and it did , after laying it down both my wife and I really like it. I have not opened all the boxes yet however there was no shipping damage to the flooring to the ones I did open which is about 24 of the 40 boxes. I do like the floor and would purchase more from you guys in the future , the price was good and even after paying the shipping and handling it still was cheaper than the local stores. If someone I know is interested in buying your flooring I would recommend them to you.

I love the floors except the width of the boards varied by about 1/8". This caused some gaps when the floor was installed even though the installers tried to work around this problem. I had no choice but to install what I had since the old floors had been pulled up and trashed. I ordered about 150 sq feet more than I was told I needed,but used everything I had because so much had to be trashed because of its width variance. prompt delivery. everyone was very nice,but the problem with the sizing really caused me headaches! friendly staff

Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Haven't installed it yet, but looks nice. The terminal where product was delivered did not call us right away. I actually tracked the order and found out it was delivered a few days prior, and had to call the terminal to confirm and book pickup. Really appreciate the free samples and quick shipping of samples.

no dought they are the best. my rep is the champ!!! no one can match the quality with the price of the wood. product was delivered on time and without having any damage. Build Direct - Awesome quality product, awesome service with best price that no other can provide. I went through different store and trying to find the best wood with right price, I found few, but I was not 100% sure and satisfied to buy any one of them. When I was searching through Google, I found Build Direct and tried to find the right wood for me. When I saw the wood Mazama Kempas Hardwood, I was happy that my search for the hard wood is over. I called my wife and asked if I should buy the same. She checked and said that the wood looks awesome, but she was kind of hesitant to buy this online as we were planning to buy wood for 1100 sqft. It's lot of money. She was not sure what we see is what we get through online. I called the Build Direct customer service and talked to the Sales Manager in Hardwood Flooring, who explained me the details about the wood, shipping and the details on how to handle issues in case there are any that comes in the process. He also provided some tips on how to get best quality installation of the wood. I was quite impressed and without any hesitation I ordered the item. The item was shipped promptly and when I received the item, I was so happy, the wood was absolutely amazing. My wife's worry was gone and she said I don't believe why other stores charge so much money for even lower quality of the wood that we the wood that we got. I said, all the companies are not the same, Build Direct is special. Later I was trying to get a stair case molding from the local store matching with the wood that I got from Build Direct. When I showed a sample piece to the store person, he asked where from did you get this exotic wood. I said Build Direct. The person said, it will be very difficult to get a stair nose molding to match with the quality of the hard wood I got. I tried few other store and had similar answer. Bottom line, no one can match their quality, price, and service that Build Direct can provide. They are the best!!!

I had to order the material but could not accept delivery and BuildDirect worked with my schedule completely. I was very satisfied. It seems very good, we just installed it in a new house and it looks good but have not had a chance to really use it. The hardwood installer we used said it is a very hard wood and he was impressed. The sample that we received from BuildDirect was definitely a "middle of the color spectrum" board. The floor goes from yellowy orange to black in areas, the board we received was brown. Although the sample was quite deceiving the floor is gorgeous and has a lot of depth and character to it. Need two or three sample pieces in the future. I requested the driver pull up my driveway which is a bit long but clear of trees and a large turn around at the top that other drivers have used in the past and he somewhat balked at it. So everything was dropped on the street and I had to haul it to the house in multiple trips which was not much fun. It was good. I am happy with the experience, only the hardwood sample being not the same as the rest of floor was a bit of a shock.

My only contact was on the internet. All went well. Better than I expected. All straight cuts so I had very little waste. Flooring arrived earlier than I expected and in good shape. Customer Service was amazing! I loved the person I spoke with, especially having a terrible experience with Lumber Liquidators. This was in stock and shipped when it was supposed to! The floor looks great! It took an extra day to get a "lift gate" available. Otherwise, it was in stock and shipped a lot sooner than your competitor! I was nervous ordering, but the experience was great. Not to mention what you had was in stock--very important. I was mislead with your competitor. Makes my purchase with you even that much more sweeter! I really liked the customer service guy I spoke with when I placed my order. He was very upfront and notified me that even when I receive my wood, I still need to wait 1 week for the moisture to adjust. He was a straight shooter which I really liked.

my rep was very helpful and quick to respond. Acacia is beautiful but lengths are short, mostly 1 and 2 feet, none much longer than 3 feet. Made it to transfer station 1.5 hrs away, they were unable to get lift gate truck to deliver, sat at warehouse several days until we hired a flatbed to pick up.

Service was excellent. Thanks to my rep. Wood was delivered on time without any damage to the packaging. We are very pleased with our floor. It is black, and it looks very dramatic. Compared to another company that sent samples to us, the quality of the finishing on the wood from BuildDirect was far superior. One thing that surprised us was that the wood itself has many little holes in it. (We bought 700 sf) We would have preferred it if they wern't there, as it looks like poor quality wood, however, they are so uniform throughout all the flooring, that at least it is consistent. We love the handscraped look. Overall the floor looks really sharp, and we would buy from BD again. (We bought the Jasper Dark Walnut Handscraped Oak)

the staff at build direct is excellent. this is our second order with build direct. we have raved about the quality of the wood and the ease of ordering. our first shipment had 49 boxes of wood. this past shipment had 8 boxes of wood. shipping cost for boxes was very expensive. would think carefully before ordering again just because the cost of shipping has gotten so high. The hardwood that we ordered was amazing. There was very little waste. Everyone that sees my floor has the same reaction - their mouth just drops open! It makes our living/kitchen area look so warm and inviting. Easy to keep clean too!

Quality is excellent but they should include a touch up stick for the bamboo flooring. We have used Builddirect on a previous project and were very happy with the materials and prices so we decided to use them on our own home. We worked with the same rep and always were treated with professionalism, timeliness and above all patience in answering our questions. The patience part meant alot to me when receiving samples for siding, floors, etc.. I highly recommend builddirect.

I was very satisfied but there was about a 10% loss due to chiped edges and flaking. Fast but had damaged box I had one piece that was installed however after the fact I noticed an entire piece had one side that was not beveled. The floor does look great, overall Im a happy customer but would like to resolve the issue regarding unusable pieces.

We need to purchase a large quantity of flooring (hardwood). We have to order in two batches because of storage issues while the work is done. The shipping costs with the split order are a bit steep. We realize the costs are static to BD so not much can be done but it stings a little. You have an excellent sales rep. I am very pleased with the service i recieved from my rep, he was prompt and attentive even answering some rudementary questions about installation. The product looks wonderful unfortunately the install will probably take place in mid summer, I'm waiting on windows and want to do the floor last. I can't wait. Your shipping was excellent I actually tracked it right across the U.S. and it only took six days to reach my house. I've had shipments from Winnipeg take longer I will definitely be using builddirect again, we are planning to do the kitchen and bath in ceramic/porcelian, or stone (still one the fence) and infloor heat so you can expect to hear from us in the future. The only negative is not even that much but four boxes arrived damage, I marked it on the invoice and had the shipper sign it just in case. It does not appear that the wood was hurt so I think we are good. I will send you pictures when the job is complete. My sales rep was always responsive and courteous. It seems good so far. I'm not completely done with installation, though. No problems, but the delivery date shown on your website was the date that your shipping company turned the shipment over to another carrier. It was not the date of delivery to me. That was confusing.

The salesman I dealt with over the phone was very helpful, the issue was with I purchased the amount that I needed, but found out after I paid for it, at the shipping date, that there was not enough inventory to support my request. Better inventory controls would have prevented this. Even though I did not get everything that I needed, due to supplier invertory miscalculations, I will still buy from Build Direct in the future. Dealing with BuildDirect was more personal than going into a store and shaking hands with your salesperson. I was able to speak with someone who could cheerfully help me anytime, just by picking up my phone. Getting rid of my carpet and switching to hardwood was a big decision and I researched wood flooring products extensively. I shopped in stores and online, bringing home over 30 samples to compare. I chose the Beauchene Maple 4 1/4". All I can say is WOW! The wood is so beautiful, each board is like a piece of artwork. I feel like I have a brand new house. My contractor told me this was the highest quality wood he has ever installed and he simply did not believe me when I told him the price.

Not wanting to open all the packaging at once since the flooring was going into many distinct areas, and knowing that the production run was all for my order, I assumed that the board length packaging per case would be similar. Unfortunatley, the longer boards seemed to be grouped within some boxes, while shorter ones were also grouped. Because my rooms are expansive, some areas have no long boards at all even after 20 plus cases being used. Overall, it worked out OK.

There were more pieces of dark wood than was pictured or described over the phone. However the quality of the wood is beyond excellent otherwise. It is straight and is going in beautifully. Corners are tight and the contractor putting it in for us is very happy indeed with it. I love it as well and am very glad that I bought it.

Was looking for a more medium stain. Hopefully, the entire shipment is the same dye lot. The engineered version of the same flooring matched the sample exactly. Very quick shipping -- 5 days from New Jersey to Edmonton, Alberta! No damage. Excellent service, shipping, quality and price!

95% of the wood was fine. Some of the pieces had holes, a few others had staples in it and a couple of the long boards were warped beyond use. I ordered extra so I was able to complete the job. Overall The wood looks very nice.

I had a problem with communication with respect to the shipment getting out of the warehouse, but once that was cleared up everything went well. Shipping was prompt, too prompt. After talking to the sales rep and reading the information on the web site I placed my order 4 weeks prior to needing to install. Allowing 3 to ship and 1 to aclimate. My product was delivered the next week. Way before I needed it an flat out in the way of the current work being performed. Being able to pick a delivery day would have given you an excellent rating. Sales rep was great to work with. Shipping was prompt, on future projects I will take that into consideration. This is by far some of the best laminate that I have ever dealt with. The waxed joints was one of the reasons that I purchased this product. This is our second order, the first order was of the 12mm Peruvian Gingerwood. This one was the 10mm Rustic Pine. Both are excellent products. If you have dogs or puppies then this is the best laminate on the market. our sales rep was such a great help in finding the floors and accessories we needed We purchased the Amber Maple hardwood floors. The color looks choc brown at night and alot of red tones in it during daylight. The floors are a very good quality. It does "lightly scratch" rather easy with a boxer of high energy; however, the light scratches are not noticable unless laying on the floor looking across the light. The handscrape is very lightly done & will really help in hiding any future flaws. The floors arrived very quickly.We had two boxes that were damaged out of 50 but were replaced within a few days. I would definitely purchase them again. We are very pleased with the floors and would definitely recommend purchasing from Build Direct. It is a great online company with wonderful customer service .

I loved it. I am extremely picky and it takes me a lot of time to make up my mind. However, your staff was always patient with me and sent approx. 15 - 18 pieces of wood to me. Also, not having to drive to a store was a big plus. Thank you. Mongolian Teak: To my surprise, the quality and color of the woodfloor was much more attractive than the pictures. The color is warm and the wood is hard and solid. The only way to get stratches in it is intentionally or with something very hard. The handscraped look is warm; it added texture to my house. The quality of the wood was mixed and there were only very few pieces that were useless. Some of the borders were not a perfect fit but very few here and there. I am very happy with the woodfloor.

Called several times before purchase, everyone was nice. The floor looks fantastic. Packaging was excellent and protected all of the pieces well. Downside to the product, the width of the boards varied by up to 1/8". Would be no problem for 1 room, but requred a lot more planning when running it through 6 rooms and a hallway. Product actually arrived 1 day early. Good because it was fast, not so good for my warehouse guys as they weren't ready.. The people, prices, and product all were better than I expected.

I requested a sample and you furnished it immediatley. Based on the sample and comparison with other floors we chose your flooring. I have been wanting to write to you everything about working with you folks was great. We installed the floor diagonally (lot of work) The floor came out great. The only thing we are dissapointed about is how fragile the finish and the wood is. We cant always remove our shoes and we do have a young dog, we do have tile at the entrys with carpets to wipe our feet but there are actual dents in the floor and scratches already. He was so impressed with the quality and price, he wanted to put the same wood in his house, and he specializies in hand scraping white oak and applying his finish. We have gotten so many compliments on our floor. The picture online is nice but the floor looks so much better in person.I would recommend build direct a 1000 times to anyone. This is such a great service to customers who are looking for a high quality at an affordable price. When we we're buying our wood, our salesman said we should buy 5 percent more sq feet to make up if any of the wood isn't useable. So in the end we bought an additional 80 sq feet. We had our professional installers install it and when they we're done i see 80 + sq feet left over. In all we had 1300 sq of perfect beautiful hardwood! There was nothing wrong with any of it. Since it has been installed we have gotten SO many compliments from either the installers, neighbors, and even the builders who want to buy this for they're future homes. the installers have never worked with this type of wood before and they loved the idea of the french bleed in between every piece of hardwood so when it does shrink or expand just a fraction for seasonal changes you won't even see it. the picture doesn't do it justice, if anyone is on the fence of purchasing this wood, read this review and buy it immediately. You won't regret it.

So far everything has been exactly as advertised. Our floors are still completely covered with cardboard as contractors are constantly walking through with their muddy boots on but every time we lift up the cardboard it is like a little slice of floor heaven. Unbelievable quality...You are the Halle Berry of hardwood. The hardwood has now been installed and the flooring looks amazing. The quality of wood is first class and we are extremely happy. Even the installer commented on the high standard of wood. We were concerned that our big German Shepperd was going to scratch the wood but the installer we used told us about the scratch resistent coating your wood has (we weren't even aware of that) makes scratching the wood very difficult. We let the dog loose and low and behold he hasn't scratched it. You folks are the best kept secret in N. America. You need to promote your product. Go public, I'll buy shares.
