Cabot is the result of skillful slate production from slate-rich centers around the world, distributed from American locations. With a choice of naturally decorative colors and patterns, each tile is split on one side to create the rustic effects you expect from premium slate tile.

Cabot Slate is a high quality, first grade slate tile with a natural split face and cailbrated back. Cabot slate tiles are multi-colored slates which exhibit several colors per tile and may vary widely in color between tiles. As with all natural slate the tile thicknesses may vary. 12"x12" tiles are usually between 3/8"-7/16"; 16"x16" are usually between 1/2"-9/16" but both tile sizes can vary beyond these ranges, more so for slate made in China and slate from India has better calibration. Regarding thickness tolerance Montauk slate is, +/-1 mm for tiles calibrated in 10 mm. US would be 3/8” thick and tolerance would be +/- 1/32” (.8mm)
