Lately, we’ve been talking quite a bit about taking control of your food and your diet as a part of a modern healthy life. And of course, we’ve also talked quite a bit about growing your own in an outdoor living space as a vital and well-used part of your property. We’ve talked about it on the BuildDirect green blog, because growing your own food can be considered a pretty important part of a green lifestyle. But, it’s also a way to add life, and even visual interest in your backyards, front yards, side yards, and even balconies.
So, we can agree that starting a garden is kind of a 21st century thing to do; adding uniqueness, and injecting a bit of self-sufficiency in there for good measure. But, what if you’ve never started a garden before? What are the next steps? How do you choose seeds? What do you have to know to achieve gardening success?
So many questions!
Well, hopefully the graphic below (complete with with grinning garden gnome, which is optional for your garden of course …) will give you a few pointers to get your creative and practical ideas a-churning.
Take a look!
So, what are your thoughts?
What are some reservations you’ve got about gardening?
What are your success stories?
What are the stories about your complete brown-thumb failures?
