Yanchi Bamboo Flooring

Yanchi Bamboo Green Flooring

Bamboo is an amazingly rugged and versatile species of grass, one of the fastest growing, fastest renewing, and strictly controlled crops in the world. And it is as green as it is beautiful and durable.

Bamboo flooring is a popular choice in flooring that seems almost too good to be true. But, true it is. With Yanchi bamboo, you're getting the unique knuckle patterns you expect and rich natural blonde color known to be harder than many types of hardwood. And with Yanchi, you have your choice of strand-woven, engineered, and stained bamboo, too. Each choice is versatile, allowing you to install bamboo flooring below grade.

What's more, Yanchi Strand-Woven Design and Strand-Woven Fusion bamboo flooring contributes to the following certification under the commercial LEED system:

1. LEED MR Credit 6: Rapidly Renewable Materials: The USGBC has established this requirement to help "reduce the use and depletion of finite raw materials and long cycle materials by replacing them with rapidly renewable materials."

2. LEED IEQ Credit 4.4: Low Emitting Materials: The USGBC has established this requirement to help "reduce the quantity of indoor air contaminants that are odorous, irritating and/or harmful to the comfort and well being of installers and occupants."

For sustainability, versatility, and for a unique look in flooring, choose Yanchi bamboo flooring from BuildDirect.

Evora Cork Flooring

Evora Cork Green Flooring

The making of cork flooring is a tribute to old world tradition as much as it is to new millennium green flooring innovation.

For hundreds of years in Portugal, cork oak bark has been removed from cork oak trees by hand, making sure that each tree remains unharmed.

What's more, cork flooring is a second-use application to the wine cork industry. Using the waste of wine cork production, the excess cork is made it into a unique green flooring choice that offers a whole range of practical benefits. So in cork floors, you benefit from a strict harvesting process which values the life and health of each tree, while also gaining the green benefits of a process which produces almost zero wastage.

You can install cork floors in nearly any room, and install them easily thanks to a glueless click locking system. And with the benefits of a uniquely patterned surface that holds in warmth, reduces noise, and cushions impact, it's hard to imagine how much more green you can get while getting all of these practical benefits in one choice of flooring.

I have had many people tell me that they like the "wood" flooring that I have used. They swear it is wood and are amazed to discover it is vinyl. I have used this flooring in two separate locations, one for the business and one for myself. I have started a movement with many people getting samples from me and planning to purchase this wonderful product. Thank you for all you have done.
