I love Twitter.
One of the reasons I love Twitter of course is discovering new people, new (to me) companies and efforts that are employing new and innovative ways to bring the DIY/building industry together. And there seems also to be a particular trend on Twitter which places a great deal of importance on improving the quality of life for the marginalized, too.
So, with this in mind here’s the first post in a possible series of building industry heroes. These are people and companies that have gone the extra mile to make the industry better – or at least made the Internet better!
This edition features Casa Guru, a company that is a resource for homeowners and contractors to find each other, to find resources, and to form communities with one another too. The community-building aspect of what they do is really impressive. And that they also incorporate the improvements of living conditions is all the more admirable.
Specifically, they have encouraged membership by pledging to donate to Habitat For Humanity. The model is this. You as a homeowner or contractor register with Casa Guru, they make a donation to the chapter of HfH closest to where you live.
It’s a creative idea to improve the quality of life for many, while also building their user base. Check out this page for more information
Cheers!
Rob.
