Can slate flooring be used over radiant floor heating systems?
March 13, 2008 | < 1 | BuildDirect
Yes, Absolutely! Whether you choose a water radiant floor heating system or one of the more popular electrical systems, such as Flextherm, slate will make a great surface for your floor.
Slate is dense and is an excellent heat conductor, so is ideally suited to this application. Wikipedia has an interesting entry on underfloor heating. Click here to see it.
