I find flowers to be the best inspiration for color palettes. Whether it’s just one flower or a bunch of them together, they always have something special. Flowers are indeed nature’s very own color palette, and all we can do is admire and do our best to bring these gorgeous colors back in our space.
This week, I chose a photo of the super flower echinacea. It’s good for colors, not only for colds!
I love how the centre looks like a star and how the flower seems to radiate from it. It could be something from nature, or an alien spaceship. From green to orange to red with pink all around, this is a gorgeous set of colors that is very inspiring.
Suitable for any type of room, this palette has a definite feminine touch with the pastels and the pinks. However, the orange adds some surprising strength and a warm contrast to the light shades.
I could see these colors in a young single woman’s living room or a teenage girl’s bedroom. These would be nice to decorate your own corner of a college dorm room too, since the pink and the green are the ultimate preppy shades. But with the orange, it’s not too preppy.
What do you see?
I am suddenly craving napolitan ice cream. Am I the only one? Where and how would you use this palette?
