Energy Efficiency in Europe for 2020

Although the trials of the European Economic Union when it comes to the Euro have certainly been under scrutiny in the last little while by us in the rest of the world, a certain truth remains in place; multinational trading blocks can set rational agendas that are common across all cultures, languages, and lifestyles that can’t help but benefit all. Some things go beyond the arbitrary borders between countries.

In our 21st Century, this means finding the ways and means to see to staying warm, getting from A to B, and in staying in jobs too, as we roll into a future that will be unlike our past – as futures should be.

When an approach is found that touches on all of these areas of life, ambitious goals must be set. This is certainly true of the EU’s Energy 2020 program. This program acknowledges that the rate of consumption in Europe far exceeds supply. As such, progressive and creative means to make sure that standards of living, and overall comfort of citizenry is met, while throwing away the energy playbook as far as how energy policies have been organized in the 20th century. This must go hand in hand of course with the way we think of energy usage on a cultural level, too; how we use it ourselves, and how we support the kinds of governments, and even private interests who seek to put best energy usage practices in place.

From private residences, to commercial construction, to the building industry, and even down to brewing companies, the idea of making the most of energy outputs is not only best practice, but is an imperative in Europe, and everywhere else.
