Reading Time: 1 minute

In the first quarter of the year, we here at BuildDirect showed you the lengths which we would go to in order to test one of our lines of laminate flooring.  For those of you who are visiting for the first time, the culmination of those efforts can be found on our site Watchuswreckafloor.com.

But, one of the things that came out of that was the fascination site visitors and video watchers have with how a floor is installed, not so much how to ruin one.  As such, it seemed to make sense for us to show you how to install a wood floor in a real setting.  This floor is no test.  It’s a floor that was ordered from us with the intention of it being a lifetime addition to a real home.  Take a look at the first episode of a series, Watch Us Make A Floor.  In this first episode, we discover the answer to the question ‘why choose engineered floors?’:

As mentioned,  the installation footage in the series takes place in a real home.  The real home in question is that of our own Matt Dickinson’s brother, Patrick and his wife Jody.  Matt helped us in our floor wrecking earlier in the year.  But, Matt is a proficient flooring installer that has a number of tips which we think you and others may benefit from.

I’ll be documenting the series here on this blog, and I hope you’ll follow along.  Comments and questions are welcome!

Cheers!

Rob.
