Product Overview

Still standing strong in some sites of Ancient Rome and the Ottoman Empire, the permanence and esteem of the Travertine towers remain prevalent today, centuries later. Naturally formed to withstand the harshest of outdoor elements, the Roterra Travertine Siding Collection can transform your home into a Mediterranean oasis, or an empirical palace.

These natural stone siding panels feature:

  • Natural beauty of travertine: the warm hues and textured matte finish softly hold light, instilling any installation site with a fine, elegant appearance.
  • Versatile application possibilities: whether youre designing a wall, fireplace, or column, Roterra installs over a number of substrates indoors and out.
  • Hospitable hues: boasting a natural variation of organic coloring, the familiar beige and warm honey colors of this stone complement an array of dcor styles
  • Ease of handling: manufactured into thinner, more manageable profiles than larger slabs offered by competitors, Roterra offers less stress on site during installation.
  • Naturally endures elements: forged from the rugged elements of nature itself, you know this stone siding promises outstanding performance in inclement weather.
  • Material: travertine

I purchased this product about a year ago and finally installed it over the last few weeks. This product is absolutely fantastic. I ordered 56 boxes and the product was shipped quickly and very well packed. As a result I had very, very little breakage. Tile colors were really nice and well distributed and with the silver color we chose we did not have to separate light from dark panels. The stone is thick and very heavy and requires a very good large tile or stone mortar. I used Mapei brand Polymer Large-Format Tile Mortar and chose the grey color to match the stone. This came highly recommended by tile installers for this application. As a serious DIY I had never put this type of stone up but found that as long as you properly leveled the bottom row it is very easy to install and very forgiving. Again the stone itself is very high quality and you will pay a lot more from your local big box store for inferior and thinner product. The stone itself comes with absolutely no instructions (which is fine) so I read up a lot on which substrate to install this on and in the end chose unfinished drywall. I spoke to several tile installers that claim they have been installing this on primed and even painted drywall for many years. I ended up calling Mapei (the mortar manufacturer) and they told me either cement board or unpainted and unfinished (meaning no joint compound) drywall using a 1/2" notched trowel. What I can tell you is that I did a test on a small piece of drywall and literally had to break the drywall apart to try and get the stone off. Even then I couldn't pull it apart. This stone is not going anywhere. Last but not least I put the stone on two flat walls and had no corners so I can't speak to the quality or usefulness of the corner pieces. Of course I did have to cut the end panels though and did that with an old 10" miter saw and a 10" diamond segmented dry cut wheel. Worked absolutely fantastic! Anyway, again I would highly recommend this product and I have already received many complements on the finished walls. Unfortunately it doesn't look like Builddirect has a way to upload images of the project but if they do at some point I'll add those as well. By the way, Builddirect was really good to deal with and I would recommend them as well.

The samples and photos were spot on with our actual product. The builder said the stone was great to work. The quick samples we received really made it easy to evaluate.
