We installed the previous version of this product about 4-5 years ago, and I believe I left a 5-star review then. Since then, the product has changed slightly (old version was seemingly manufactured by Lampton, new version by Tropical), and I'm leaving a new 4-star review to reflect the slight reduction in quality. Issues with newer version: 1) The integrated underlayment is sometimes cut a bit haphazardly. On any given board, you'll now find that some of the underlayment extends beyond the bottom of the board, and needs to be trimmed in order to fit against a neighboring plank. It's not hard (razor and a straight edge gets it done), but it can definitely add a bit of time to your install. 2) The gluing process for these seems to have occasionally gotten messy. It's not every board, but a few definitely have glue smeared across the tops and sides of the planks. This can usually be taken off with a solvent, but occasionally you have to discard a plank. 3)There are some printing errors. A small number of planks had unprinted sections (i.e. shapes on the board were just left pure white). This isn't tremendously widespread, but you do need to inspect the planks carefully to make sure you're not laying down one with that issue. Again, this is rare, so if you buy 10% extra material you should be more than covered. So far, this seems like it affect maybe one board in every 6 boxes or so. 4) There are some differences between this newer version and the old version as well. The tongue and groove system is different, so you can't mix and match. Also, the old planks systematically aligned the three rows of faux-wood pattern on each board, whereas the new one wanders slightly by perhaps a 1/4" from side to side. It's not immediately noticeable from a distance, but up close they certainly aren't as seemingly continuous as they used to be. Be especially careful if you're trying to line up transitions; it might just not be possible. Again, it's not super noticeable, but if you're a perfectionist, be aware. Despite all that, it's still a 4-star product. We got this on an exceptional sale, and so I can't complain about the overall value. I do wish that I'd purchased all the material I needed for the house years ago though, so that everything matched exactly and we were using the slightly better boards throughout the home. To end on a positive though, this is still a MASSIVE improvement over the flooring that it's replacing, and I'm still quite happy with the project.
