I ordered a sample of this maple flooring, "European character wood" which is milled in Tennesses. The sample was in my hands the next day and I ordered 2500sf the day after. The sample piece was a good example of the wood flooring I received. I unbundled the wood and stacked it in a big square to acclimate in the great room of a new house. The wood came very dry and did not cup or twist or do wierd wood things while acclimating. When installing, it went down very well and everyone was impressed. Am in the middle of sanding it and my friend who was a professional wood floor guy for 15 years was very impressed. Sanding it is much like polishing a large piece of granite. They were a bit late in shipping it but I think at the time Tennesse was flooding and probably had something to do with it. Would recommend on all accounts.

Product is high quality basic, unfinished maple hardwood which is exactly what we wanted. Pieces range from 87" to 19" which is a nice sampling. Bundles were nicely bundled; only 2 of 67 bundles were slightly unbundled.

There are a lot of marks on the planks from the plastic strapping digging into the wood, black stripes from dirt trapped under the plastic strapping being ground into the wood, and bright pink chalk lines. I've had good results from sanding the pink chalk lines, but the dirt lines are proving more difficult to expunge by hand, and the depressions left by the strapping are of course not removable with a piece of sandpaper. I hope that the black and pink marks go away and the damage from the strapping is reduced when the floor is machine-sanded after installation.
