Product Overview

RIFT & QUARTERED: The way it all should be done. This sawing technique in White Oak allows the floors to become impermeable to water, making its other great purpose: Whiskey Barrels.

  • REAL HARDWOOD: Made of Character, not plywood.
  • SUSTAINABLY HARVESTED: All of the hardwoods are harvested from local multi generational family farms.
  • CRAFTED IN TN, LIVED ON EVERYWHERE: There is a reason Jack's Whiskey is made in Tennessee and coveted the world over. It takes the finest hardwood to craft good whiskey and great plank floors.
  • LONG LENGTHS: Walking Horse Plank doesn't come in pieces like other flooring. It comes in planks. Long ones.
  • OUR FLOORS ARE PERMANENT: Don't live everyday on a replaceable floor. Our floors are solid unfinished hardwood meant to last for generations and continually be transformed to match the style of whichever generation is living on them.

I was very hesitant ordering flooring that I could not see prior to purchase. However, I was amazed when the flooring was delivered. When they say long plank they are not kidding. I would say less than 5 percent was about three feet in length. 20 percent was between three and six feet. The remaining 75 percent was all 6-10 foot long. I am Very impressed with the millwork of the rift and quarter-sawn oak flooring. I purchased 1100 square feet figuring ten percent waste and to my surprise I had about 1 percent waste. Looks like the work bench in the garage is getting a hardwood top due to all I have left over! The company finishing the floor has been in business 30 years and the owner did not believe the price I paid for the flooring. I highly recommend this website and also the long plank rift and quartered white oak flooring.

We were nervous about ordering 1,100 square feet of white oak unfinished flooring because it was a large $ amount and consequential for us if it went wrong. The planks came by truck to our house strapped to a pallet. The planks were indeed a variety of lengths, with only a small proportion 2 feet. MANY planks were very long, 8 and 10 feet long, which makes our wood floor look very nice. We had two installers look at the quality before installation. Both spoke highly of the product after inspecting width and depth of tongue and groove, and straightness and thickness of the planks. We ended up hiring one of these two installers and he continued to praise the quality. He had no problems installing. Of course we had some bad boards. But we expected that as it is a natural product. We are very happy with what we got.
