What is a BuildDirect flooring expert?
A BuildDirect employee, based in North America, whose job is to help you choose and buy the right floor. They compare samples with you, calculate how much you need, match the trims and accessories, build your quote and coordinate the freight delivery. They are not interior designers and they do not visit your home — the help is by phone and email.
Does it cost anything?
No. Expert help is included with your sample order, and the samples themselves are free. There is no consultation fee and no obligation to buy.
How do I get one?
Order up to five free samples and one is assigned to you. If you would rather start with a conversation, call 1-877-631-2845 and ask for a flooring expert.
Will I get sales calls?
Your expert introduces themselves after your sample order, so you know who to ask for. After that they are there when you want them — you have their direct line and email, and you decide when to use it.
Where are the experts based?
All of our flooring experts are in North America.
Can they tell me how much flooring to order?
Yes. Send your room measurements, photos or a floor plan and they will work out square footage, waste factor and box count, along with the trims, underlayment and accessories that go with the floor you chose.
Can they help with installation?
They can talk you through what the installation involves, what the subfloor needs and which underlayment and adhesive match your floor, so you can brief an installer or plan a DIY job. BuildDirect does not install flooring.
Do they visit my home?
No. Support is by phone and email. To see and feel the products in person, visit one of our flooring centers.
What if I already know what I want?
Then order and we will stay out of your way. Your expert is there if something comes up — quantities, accessories or delivery.
