First, the French/antique pattern for this tile is designed to have no grout space and uses butt joints. This isn't clearly stated on it's webpage. If you want grout spacing with this tile then you will have to use two grout joint widths. Many tiling pros frown upon butt joint tile installation. Second, there were a lot of broken tiles in the shipment, primarily the larger 18"x24" tiles. BuildDirect did send replacement tiles. The problem was BuildDirect's distributor refused break up a crate pallet. They sent me 4 times as much replacement as I requested. I had to return the remainder of the pallet via truck freight. BuildDirect paid for the return shipping but the whole ordeal was a hassle. I installed my floor with a modified pattern and staggered 1/8" and 1/16" grout lines. It looks great.

The delivery went very smoothly, and the tile came with practically zero damaged tiles, which is a credit to the great packing job. Oh, and the price totally beat anything we could get locally.So we are very happy with our purchase.

Customer srvc was great! Needed to replace a few tiles that I purchased a few yrs ago. They honored the price & offered to send some samples to make sure tile color was ok....sample tiles were great! I only needed appt 20 sf, but due to high shipping costs I ordered 5X the amount (shipping was still more expensive than tile) and we had to pick it up at warehouse. A little inconvenient but fortunately the place wasn't that far. Once we got tile home, the color was not the same and the new tiles were much more "honed". This is s problem since I'm replacing some. Thank goodness I have a good contractor. All in all, I would still recommend Build Direct. Lots of products at great pricing and the customer service is awesome! That's a rarity these days and something I truly appreciate....guess that's why I've been a customer for over 10 years
